Now, for :iconwe-love-colours: contest. I described below what I did this summer. Get ready for this art exhibit, and do lots of deep thinking. That was why I named this one Contemplacion.

I use many words, not just in the summer time...left the rest of the comments as they were. They are like a diary of what I did this summer. Even the Think Pink V was part of my summer.

And, perhaps the last thing I did before autumn arrives where I live [Florida, and summer is very long here]

I found the We-love-colours group in time to participate in the

I painted this one for my solo Art Exhibit,
that opens Oct. 1 -- as part of an ARTWALK Breast Cancer fund-raiser. It will run for the month of October.

Definition of the word contemplation = "A state of mystical awareness of God's being"

I've included elements of symbolism, including the pink flowers in her hair.

I am a survivor of breast cancer. My radiology report, and my oncologist, told me I had a high likelihood of dying within two years of the diagnosis. [I am way past my expiration date!]

The experience was terrible, and wonderful. Because of it, I became an artist. Because of it, I have greater rest in my understanding that God sees a bigger picture. Though His ways are higher than ours, I have been moved forward in my ability to rest in Him.

Resting in Him is part of what contemplation is. Cancer, and other hardships in my life, have forced me to stop depending so much on my own strength. It is a continual process in my life.

I was released from the drive to figure things out.

Even in preparation for this solo art exhibit, I had opportunitues to "let things go" through prayer. I experienced how God gave me something of Himself, as He took care of all my little concerns.

Cancer brought the death of many of my dreams, but was not the death of me. And, in place of my old dreams, He has granted me better ones.

This is my first rendering of art from a dA model. That is very exciting for me.
